New Gigs For the JKBand

Filed under: Latest — JK @ 3:46 pm

Hey everyone… how goes it on this fine Thursday afternoon? I’m happy to report the JKB has got a full schedule next month with a couple of new venues. We’ll be at Java Nirvana on Friday, June 1st at 7pm for an Art Walk. The following weekend, we’re playing Friday, June 8th for a private function held by Tampa Bay Watch and Saturday, June 9th at The Old Northeast Tavern from 7-10pm. Friday, June 15th, we’re playing at The Dunedin Brewery with new friend and cohort, Dean Johanesen of the Human Condition. Friday, June 22nd and 29th, we will be playing at a new venue for the band, the Fly Bar & Restaurant at 10pm. And finally, Sat June 23rd at The Old Northest Tavern.
The Fly Bar & Restaurant looks like a great place for the band to expand our audiance. It will be our first venture into Tampa with the new line up.

We’ve also started recording the new album. I’m pretty excited about this venture as it will be more of a “band” vibe. For the past few years I’ve been recording my songs on my own with some help from various drummers but this time I’m going for the sound the JKB has been creating at our shows for the last year or so… so keep an eye out for the neww CD, “The Stage”.

Last Weekend – Cinco de Mayo

Filed under: Latest — JK @ 12:59 pm

Hey all you John Kelly supporters. Last weekend at The Old Northeast Tavern was a complete success and one of the funnest gigs I’ve had in some time. The band played a bunch of my new tunes and some old favorites. Towards the end of the night we were blessed with the talents of T.C. Carr backing us up on harmonica. I even got to jam with him a bit. That was a real treat and I think the rest of the bar would agree. We kicked some butt.
So T.C., if your out there… I sure would love to do that again – it was a pleasure having you sit in. The cool thing was that “Blues Fest” was going on and there were planty of great musicians floating around the area. I know T.C. was to play with Dickey Betts from the Allman Brothers Band, so, the players were definitely a plentyful.

Thanks to everyone who made it out Saturday night and very special thanks to all those who purchase my CD “Forgiven”. The Band is in the studio right now finishing up my next CD “The Stage”. On this record I’m recording the band in its current line up. So keep a look out for it. It will be under the Name… “The John Kelly Band”
